The Great Outdoors

Are you looking for your next adventure?

Don't miss the hiking trails with beautiful sceneries in Kindla or Håkansbodaberget. A canoe trail is accessable just 100 meters from the Silo, and the forrest with blueberries, chantarelles and lingon berries is just around the corner. If you prefer to go by bike there is a mountainbike trail next to the Silo. Dammsjön 15 minutes away offers great fishing.

Take a swim

It's possible to take a dip in the river by the Silo, but if you want to go to the beach there are plenty of options nearby. Kalkstensbrottet offers a magical view and crystal clear water. If you want to swim in the black iron waters of Bergslagen we have plenty of other suggestions, like Finnsjöstrand and other lakes in the area.

Eat & Drink

Bergslagen is the place to go if you like lovely cafés on the countryside and small scale producers. Eat pizza to die for at Hjulsjö 103, a tasty dinner at Bryggerikrogen, get dessert at Nora Icecream or waffles at Göthlinska trädgården, buy cheese at Bredsjö blå and get your Swedish fika at Nora-Annas Gårdscafé.

See & Do

The small village Nora, with lovely old houses and old shops, is just 20 minutes away from the Silo.

If you want to learn more about the history of Bergslagen, we recommend a visit to

Siggebohyttan or Pershyttan.

Flea markets are all around, look out for "Loppis"-signs. Are you looking for old books, you will be sure to find them at Södra hyttans bokloppis.
